I am very fortunate to be a librarian-it is one of the best careers out there. I get to help people, learn something new and work with other people who are passionate about libraries every day.
I also help the library team present the types of adult events the community wants. I am very excited about the quality and variety of programs I've seen presented at the library so far. We've offered craft programs for adults, an author talk, a BBQ Basics event and Sephora makeup seminar, among others.
Right now, we are planning events for The Big Read program celebrating Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird. It will include discussions, guest lectures, storytimes, film showings and a stage production.

Hey Casey. Your blog is now linked!

I love the adult programs, especially the BBQ class and Sephora! You're doing a great job!
Cool blog, Casey! I like the information about low adult reading rates (though the news is disturbing). And I love the picture of Multnomah Falls!
Love the Library 2.0 stuff you're doing Casey! And, how nice that this coincides with your Libr 200 paper on Library 2.0. See, didn't we tell you you'd be able to use work stuff for library school. :)
